How Does Super Cruise Work?
Super Cruise utilizes a data connection from GMC Connected Services for real-time precise positioning and periodic map updates. A compatible model’s cameras, sensors and LiDAR map data help the driver stay centered in their lane while driving hands-free, detecting road positioning, curves, current travel speed and surrounding vehicles.
Additionally, Adaptive Cruise Control operates the vehicle’s acceleration and braking when Super Cruise is enabled, and a Driver Attention System has an integrated camera on top of the steering wheel column and infrared emitters to help ensure the driver is paying attention.
